An Alexander Kind of Day
So today should have been a fabulous day since I started my new internship at the SC Arts Commission, however it was not. I had a not so good weekend so I woke up in a not so good mood. Because of my yuck weekend I decided to spend one more night at home so I had to get up early to drive the two hours back to Columbia, and everyone knows how much I hate to drive. I did enjoy my first day at the SCAC. I didn't do anything terribly exciting but I got to meet lots of new people so that was fun. I also got to reformat documents which described people's job descriptions which seems lame, but it was a good way to really see what some people at the SCAC really do. After I got off at two I then headed over to my second job (I have three this summer). I was supposed to pick up the kids I babysit from school so I headed to Polo Road Elementary. I then waited in the carpool line like a good mommy and finally it began to move. One teacher asked me who I was there to pick up and retorted back that they must be new because she didn't know them. I didn't think anything of this seeing as they are new because they moved here from Texas at the beginning of the school year. I then proceeded down the carpool line to pick up the kiddies. Two more teachers gave me confused looks when I told them who I was there to pick up and then a fourth one told me they did an all-call and there were no kids by the names that I gave them. At this point I began to panic and I called their mom to find out they go to Round Top Elementary. WHERE IN THE WORLD DID I COME UP WITH POLO ROAD?????? I felt so dumb and then had the realization that those teachers at Polo Road probably thought I was a crazy kidnapper or something! So then I hurried off to the right school to pick them up. I apologized for being late and then we drove home to play and eat snacks. Then I had to take one of them to a baseball game where I got to sit in the rain because the lovely coaches refused to cancel it. Oh well. His mom came to my rescue very soon and let me go home, where I am now writing this blog instead of eating dinner even though I'm starving but there are strange people in my living room and I don't feel like being social. Hopefully, they'll leave soon or I'll just eat candy for dinner :)

EXCITING things
So, I stopped blogging ummm well this time last year because I thought nothing exciting in my life was happening. However I interned with the Piccolo Spoleto Festival which was super exciting and now that I think back I wish I had something to LOOK back to as well. I just don't remember all the funny little things that happened everyday and all of the things that I learned along the way. So all of this being said, I know exciting things are in store for me this summer so I'm going to blog about them so that next May I will have something to look back at and not just think back at. This summer I have already moved into my very first apartment(exciting), started a new nannying job (exciting), continued my job as an admissions counselor (not as exciting because its not new but whatever), and snagged an awesome internship at the South Carolina Arts Commission. So as I start out on a blogging adventure once again, I hope to remember all of the EXCITING things that happen this summer!
